Gowrings Mobility Races for Life and raises thousands of pounds for charity

A team of 25 women from Newbury based Gowrings Mobility, braved the elements on Sunday 6th July and completed the 5km Race for Life at the Newbury Showground in aid of Cancer Research UK. Gowrings Mobility manufactures and supplies specially adapted cars for wheelchair users who wish to travel as a passenger in their wheelchair.

Despite the torrential rain and strong winds, the team all managed to make it round the course in great spirits and raised an amazing £2,280 for the cancer charity. One member of the team even ‘doubled up’ and ran 10km in just under 50 minutes!

Gowrings Mobility Managing Director Colston Herbert said ‘We were delighted to have entered a team into this year’s Race for Life and to have raised such a fantastic amount of money for a great cause. We are hoping to have an even bigger team to enter next year.’
